About us
COMPANY
UptoEarth is a Start-up founded in April 2019 with the goal of creating economic gain for farmers, through the storage of carbon in the soil.
The company, partly funded by the European Union through the EFRE Programme, was incubated in the CESAH, the ESA Business Incubation Centre (ESA BIC) of Hessen & Baden-Württemberg region and it is currently part of the ESA BIC Alumni Network in Darmstadt.
UptoEarth provides consultancy and develops hardware and software for services in the areas of aerospace, earth observation, agriculture, environmental protection and smart city.
VISION & MISSION
Climate change, caused by the accumulation of greenhouse gases (GHGs) in the atmosphere, is seriously endangering human life, negatively impacting environment, human health and social justice. Carbon emissions represent the main responsible for Climate Change and their reduction is considered the first international priority in order to achieve sustainable development.
Aware that there is no Planet B, UptoEarth aims at providing effective solutions to mitigate and reverse Climate Change effects and promoting more sustainable approaches and practices.
Uptoearth mission is to image the entire Earth every day and make global change visible, accessible, and actionable.

TEAM
Filippo Iodice
CEO
Filippo is young and passionate engineer with a PhD in Environment, City and Territory monitored by satellite. Professional experience in various sectors of the space industry: Engineer in Earth Observation, EO algorithm researcher and ESA and Horizon project manager. Excellent skills in Hyperspectral, Multispectral and RADAR data processing, GIS and distributed DATABASE modelling skills (Blockchain and GeoDatabase). Finally, he has skills related to soil and its processes, in particular the monitoring of nutrient sequestration and storage within it.
Giulio is a highly skilled professional with extensive knowledge of information communication technology and strategy, with over 40 years of experience in managing and developing projects in both the public and private sectors. Over the years, he has developed a strong ability for “problem solving” through the management and implementation of several projects carried out mainly in national and local public administration, as well as within industry and insurance groups of nationwide significance. In the last 15 years of activity, he has developed a good understanding of market trends related to hardware, software and telecommunications applied to the agricultural sector, with a clear experience in the field of environmental controls based on photogrammetry and remote sensing.

AWARDS
Soil Carbon Sequestration in Agricultural Systems
Winner of the 2018 Copernicus Master University Challenge
“The establishment of a credit-based system to optimise nutrient management can be a breakthrough in the farmer industry. It is incentive based, which leads to adoption. Furthermore, the use of blockchain technology will increase security and build trust. This solution will protect the environment and can even increase farmer revenue. A great idea with high potential.”
